Distortion Festival is one of the biggest events in Northern Europe dedicated to electronic music, underground art and club culture. It was first held in 1998. The festival is traditionally held in early June in the format of a huge street party. It lasts for 5 days, hosting more than 100000 guests daily. The fun starts on the streets of Nørrebro and Vesterbro and then gradually moves to other neighborhoods. The festival program includes more than 300 concerts on large and small stages, Happenings, raves and much more. The legendary Final Party or Distortion Ø lasts 2 days, takes place on several stages and is dedicated to new electronic music. It takes place on an island in Copenhagen harbor.

Street nights

Every day, from 16:00 to 22:00, Distortion organizes 20-40 street parties every day in one neighborhood of Copenhagen: Nørrebro on Wednesday and Vesterbro on Thursday. Street parties are organized by the local sound system: stores, nightclubs, residents, galleries, labels, journalists and bars. Distortion is world-famous for its intense evening energy and for transforming the entire city into a giant nightclub, but it also hosts events for children, popular street restaurants and a stage for international classical music. The streets of Copenhagen are overflowing with people and transformed by thousands of guests dancing together and loving life and music.

Distortion Club

At night, Distortion hosts an international festival of contemporary club music. Distortion Club takes place in nightclubs, regular venues and one-off locations such as swimming pools, under bridges, museums, the Royal Theater and warehouses. Names such as Hot Chip, Simian Mobile Disco, Spank Rock, Sebastien Tellier, Diplo and MIA have played Distortion Club events years before they became international music heroes. Entrance is by single tickets or Distortion Pass.

Distortion

Distortion is the main event of Distortion Week, formerly known as Final Party. With 14,000-15,000 guests over two days, it is the largest event in Northern Europe for new electronic music (hip-hop, grime, bass, house, electronic pop, experimentation and techno). The labyrinthine venue is located on a former industrial island in the Copenhagen harbor. Six to ten dance floors are located both outdoors and indoors, in small forests and in containers with the legendary “techno tunnel”. The backdrops combine the Copenhagen skyline and the industrial harbor. Entrance is by Distortion ticket or Distortion Pass.

Distortion Camping

Distortion Camping is located on the island of Refshaleøen, 200 meters from the Distortion site and a few minutes from public transportation (bus and boat). Distortion Camping has the Distortion Recreation Area right in front of the Little Mermaid, offering sunset and sunrise views of the waterfront.
